Operators Expand Service To Cuba In DEC
OWG is launching flights to Cayo Santa Maria on 18DEC for tour operator Hola Sun.
Sunwing, Transat and ACV are expanding flights to Cuba this month, while new Montreal-based airline OWG will launch inaugural operations on 18DEC, with flights to Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba.
The flights to SNU mark OWG's first ever revenue service for tour operator Hola Sun (Caribe Sol in Quebec), and will fly twice weekly from YYZ and YUL. Flights were initially due to take off in NOV, but were postponed.
Sunwing and Transat are relaunching flights between YYZ and YUL to Varadero this month, according to the Cuba Tourist Board. Air Canada Vacations, which has already been flying from YUL and YYZ to Cayo Coco and Varadero, is set to add Cayo Santa Maria as a destination.
“These flights will be the firsts arriving in this destination since March but more importantly, they will provide airlift to clients going to other destinations such as: Cienfuegos, Trinidad and Zapata peninsula," says Lessner Gomez, Director of the Cuba Tourist Board.
