Author Patricia Schultz Named Godmother For Avalon Expression
Patricia Schultz
Avalon Waterways has announced that international bestselling author Patricia Schultz will christen the Avalon Expression – one of the line’s 2 new “suite ships” being unveiled in 2013.
Schultz is responsible for the 1,000 Places To See Before You Die series. The original book was published in 2003, followed by a revised edition and iPad app in 2011.
“It is an honour, without doubt, but also a thrill and a delight to have this chance to christen the Avalon Expression,” Schultz said. “I know that countless adventurers will fill every departure, excited by the promise of exploring Europe's history-lined rivers. Sailing through its most special corners on such a beautiful vessel is something that makes me exceptionally proud!”
Schultz will christen the ship in a ceremony that will take place on May 6th in Cochem, Germany.
“Ms. Schultz has inspired thousands of people driven by wanderlust to travel the world,” said Patrick Clark, Managing Director of Avalon Waterways. “She is the perfect godmother for the Expression – a suite ship that will soon deliver travellers to the heart of Europe, encouraging them to explore and experience each destination while enjoying panoramic views day and night, along the way.”
After the christening ceremony, the 443 ft., 166 pax Avalon Expression will offer travellers itineraries including The Legendary Danube, The Blue Danube Discovery and Magnificent Europe. Avalon reports that these vacations are nearly sold out for the 2013 cruise season.
