Uniworld Adds Super Ship, S.S. Emilie, to Debut in 2026
Uniworld Boutique River Cruises will mark its 50th anniversary in 2026 with the introduction of its latest fleet member, the S.S. Emilie, which will debut in Europe to sail either the Rhine, the Main or Danube rivers.
Drawing inspiration from the celebrated Austrian painter Gustav Klimt of ‘The Kiss’ fame, the Super Ship is named after Klimt's muse, Emilie Flöge.
What’s a Super Ship?
Each of Uniworld’s five existing Super Ships are tailored to reflect the character of the rivers they sail. Since 2020, five Super Ships have launched including the French-inspired Joie de Vivre, Mekong Jewel on the Mekong River; the Aria Amazon on the Maranon and Ucayali rivers in Peru; the S.S. Sao Gabriel on the Douro; the S.S. La Venezia on the Venetian Lagoon; the S.S. Sphinx on the Nile River; and the yacht- styled S.S. Beatrice.
According to Uniworld’s website, “Our Super Ship fleet takes it to the next level. With grand design elements, ultra-luxurious amenities, and more space, no detail is overlooked in making each member of our Super Ship fleet the absolute pinnacle of luxury.”
"We're thrilled to introduce a brand-new ship to our fleet in 2026, just in time to celebrate Uniworld's 50th anniversary," Ellen Bettridge, President and CEO of Uniworld Boutique River Cruises, said in a statement.
Michelle Palma, VP of Field Sales for North America, told Open Jaw there is no doubt the S.S. Emilie will be the most luxurious river ship sailing in Europe. She added, “This is our first Super Ship new build since the Joie de Vivre so I’m excited to see all the special signature Uniworld touches and the homage to Gustav Klimt reflected throughout the ship.”
The S.S. Emilie will follow the debut of the S.S. Victoria on the Rhine and Moselle rivers in 2024, as well as the arrival of the S.S. Elisabeth, scheduled to set sail on the Rhine in 2025.
As the S.S. Emilie's launch approaches, updated details on its itineraries and onboard amenities will be released.
